Esta plataforma en sí constituye un elemento innovador para el abordaje integral de la pandemia a nivel comunitario e
integra diversas tecnologías emergentes de manera combinada tales como Limesurvey, Aplicaciones móviles, AppSheet,
Ushahidi y Microsoft Power BI, que conuyen en una herramienta útil para la evaluación en tiempo real de los pacientes en
modo virtual, desde condiciones de aislamiento y/o distanciamiento social, por el personal de salud; favoreciendo la toma
de decisiones de manera oportuna y facilitando un manejo ecaz de la situación a partir del control epidemiológico efectivo.
Se concreta en una autoevaluación que realiza el paciente en cuanto a factores de riesgo para la enfermedad COVID-19, y
a partir de entonces continua la atención por especialista médicos que establecen las aproximaciones y/o conrmaciones
diagnósticas, hacen prescripciones terapéuticas, evalúan el pronóstico de cada caso, pero también desarrollan acciones
de prevención y control de la enfermedad COVID-19 dirigidas al paciente, su familia y la comunidad, todo lo cual se
interconecta a servicios de Telemedicina, así como a servicios del Ministerio de Salud Pública, que comandan las acciones
a nivel local, garantizando la racionalidad en el diagnóstico y tratamiento efectivo de los enfermos, así como facilita la
referencia de pacientes e incluso permite coordinar su traslado. Otro benecio añadido, es que el personal médico puede
manejar la aplicación desde su teléfono celular o su ordenador y dispone en todo momento de un dashboard, para analizar
los indicadores clave que le permiten la toma de decisiones en el ámbito clínico y epidemiológico (Alshurideh et al., 2021:
Zhang et al., 2021).
Para las autoridades decisoras en Salud, constituye una poderosa herramienta para el control epidemiológico de la pandemia
COVID-19 (Sánchez et al., 2021).
La severidad del problema, demanda soluciones que integren las tecnologías más avanzadas con la mejor evidencia cientíca
disponible, desde la investigación. La academia, puesta al servicio de la sociedad en una oda por la vida.
