“Para un espíritu cientíco, todo conocimiento es respuesta
a una pregunta; si no hubo pregunta, no puede haber cono-
cimiento” sentenciaba Gastón Bachelard, desde un enfoque
crítico y en la perspectiva de introducirnos en el mundo de la
investigación a partir del aprendizaje que genera preguntas,
libera de prejuicios y compromete en la búsqueda de respues-
tas válidas a los problemas en un contexto socio-histórico de-
terminado.
Desde otra lógica, pero en la misma línea de pensamiento Alvin
y Heidi Tofer señalaban: “Desconamos de los que creen tener
las respuestas cuando aún tratamos de formular las preguntas”
para que se comprenda que al conocimiento no se llega por
la vía de las armaciones vacías de contenido, sino que los
conceptos se generan a través de procesos de investigación.
La investigación, sin embargo, no se produce por arte de ma-
gia, o por el azar; obedece a procesos formativos continuos y
sistemáticos que impulsan a las personas a inquirir sobre el por
qué y el para qué de la ciencia, a preguntarse metódicamente
sobre la naturaleza de la realidad, a deliberar sobre cómo se
construye y valida el conocimiento cientíco, a buscar solucio-
nes a los problemas que aquejan a nuestra sociedad, que indu-
cen al compromiso con los seres humanos y su calidad de vida.
No está por demás en insistir que se aprende a investigar in-
vestigando, y reexionando sobre los procesos y resultados
alcanzados, para elevar los niveles de calidad de los mismos,
pero asociados a núcleos de investigación que denen áreas y
líneas prioritarias para potenciar y consolidar esfuerzos alrede-
dor de la solución de problemas críticos en su red de relaciones
y con visión interdisciplinar.
Es fundamental comprender que detrás de toda investigación
en el ámbito universitario hay un conjunto de valores como:
honestidad intelectual, perseverancia, orden, rigurosidad me-
todológica, solidaridad…
Y, nalmente advertir que una investigación que no se socia-
liza, no existe, porque no transforma nada, ni permite apren-
dizajes colectivos. En investigación no se trata de fortalecer
egos, sino de transformar realidades, al generar ciencia con
conciencia para la causa de la vida.
La Universidad Técnica de Ambato tiene un compromiso ético
con la Sociedad y las publicaciones de sus investigadores en
diferentes campos de la ciencia, como es el caso de la presen-
te revista cientíca, ratican su voluntad de servir de manera
idónea a los intereses del “otro desarrollo” en el que la ciencia
y tecnología tengan rostro humano.
