Economic perspectives and use of industrial installed capacity: analysis of La Pampa, Argentina

This study examines the relationship between perceptions of economic variables, structural variables and the utilization of installed capacity in 87 industries in La Pampa, Argentina. The main objective is to determine whether these variables influence the use of installed capacity. The methodology includes structured surveys to obtain data on installed capacity and descriptive economic and structural perceptions. The Kruskal-Wallis test is used to evaluate this relationship. The results reveal that, although the average utilization of installed capacity is 64.3% with a notable intra-industry variability, perceptions of inflation and the specific industry have a significant relationship with the utilization of installed capacity. However, other perceptions and variables, such as the macroeconomic situation, the sector, access to credit, gender, size and age, do not show statistically significant differences in the use of installed capacity. This suggests that the sector and inflation are a key factor to consider, while other economic perceptions may not clearly influence installed capacity.
