CHARACTERIZATION OF THE QUALITY OF WORK LIFE AND SELF-EFFICACY IN HEALTH PERSONNEL IN ECUADOR

Introduction: Quality of working life (CVL) and professional self-efficacy (AP) are essential for personal health, which can directly influence your well-being and quality of care. The objective was to compare the factors of quality of work life and professional self-efficacy according to the levels of care and occupational categories of health team members in health units in Quito, Ecuador. Methods: the study was not experimental, cross-sectional, descriptive and comparative. 233 doctors, nurses and nursing assistants from health units at the first and second level of care were studied. A questionnaire on sociodemographic and work variables, a questionnaire on quality of working life and one on professional self-efficacy were applied. Results show that 71.3% of the majority were women; Regarding the CVL general, it was classified by the majority as "media". By dimensions of CVL, work stress varies considerably between personal health; Therefore, the lowest level predominates for nursing assistants and the highest for doctors. In relation to the AP, the first level of attention is found to be a higher overall level compared to the second level. Conclusions: These findings support the need for specific strategies to improve the quality of working life and reduce stress, especially among doctors, and to strengthen positive professional self-efficacy at all levels of care.
