The Boletín de Coyuntura journal is published by the Economic and Social Observatory of Tungurahua (OBEST) of the Technical University of Ambato (UTA) (Ambato-Ecuador).

 

Focus and scope

Boletín de Coyuntura is a scientific journal published by the Economic and Social Observatory of Tungurahua - OBEST of the Technical University of Ambato - UTA (Ambato-Ecuador), with codes e-ISSN 2600-5727 / p-ISSN 2528-7931, DOI 10.31243/bcoyu, registered in Academia.edu, BASE, Crossref (DOI), Dialnet, DOAJ, Google Scholar, LatinREV, MIAR, REDIB, RERCIE, RRAAE and in the Directory and Catalog 2.0 of Latindex.

Its objective is to contribute to scientific knowledge through the dissemination of scientific research, review and reflection articles, which are unpublished, original and/or review articles, in Spanish and English, focused on: economics, finance, administration and accounting. The journal is aimed at professionals and researchers working in these fields of knowledge.

 

Frequency of publication

Boletín de Coyuntura publishes 4 issues per year, quarterly (January-March, April-June, July-September and October-December). The first article of each journal is published in January, April, July and October. Each journal has a minimum of 4 articles. The publication period for the total content of each journal is 8 to 10 weeks.

 

Mode of publication

Boletín de Coyuntura publishes under the continuous flow modality since 2024. The reception of manuscripts is permanent.

 

Arbitration system

The articles published in the Boletín de Coyuntura are the result of a complete selection process, which includes the Technical Team and Editorial Committee in the first instance. The articles are then peer-reviewed under the double-blind method (the identity of the author and peer reviewers is kept hidden). The members of the Editorial Committee and peer reviewers are national and international specialists. The evaluators use the article evaluation form, which considers the following aspects: 1) Relevance of the article; 2) Formal aspects of the article; 3) Content or substance of the article; 4) Quantitative valuation of the article; 5) Qualitative valuation of the article. In addition, reviewers may attach documents in their review.

As part of the Editorial Process, the journal asks the author to complete the statement of commitment of authors. The editorial management is carried out through the journal's OJS platform.

 

Types of articles

Boletín de Coyuntura receives the following types of manuscripts:

Scientific research articles: it is an article that presents in detail, the original results of research projects, it is based on a question, which is attempted to be answered through a structured and reproducible method.

Review articles: it is an article that compiles the most relevant information on a specific topic. It analyzes, systematizes and integrates the results of other research in a given field, in order to account for progress and development trends. Its purpose is to review the published literature and place it in a certain perspective.

Reflection articles: it is a subjective article that presents the result of an investigation from the analytical, interpretative or critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, supported by other investigations.

 

Open access policy

The journal Boletín de Coyuntura is open access, all content is available free of charge and without charge for the user or their institution. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other legal purpose, without requesting prior permission from the publisher or author and without the need to register, in addition, no There is a content embargo period. All publications of the magazine are under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International license (CC BY-NC 4.0). The open access policy of the Boletín de Coyuntura is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative - BOAI.

 

Article Processing Charges (APC)

The articles published in the journal Boletín de Coyuntura have no cost of presentation, processing or publication for the authors.

 

Copyright

The publications of the Boletín de Coyuntura are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0). The Universidad Técnica de Ambato retains the copyright of the published works, and favors and allows the reuse of these, as long as: the authorship and original source of publication is cited, and they are not used for commercial or onerous purposes. The intellectual property of the published articles belongs to the authors.

 

Originality

The articles presented must be unpublished, original and/or review (spanish/english), in the research lines of the journal, that have not been previously published in any printed or electronic medium. Authors should not simultaneously/multiplely submit the same article to different publications or publishers. Any socialization of results regarding the written subject may be carried out after the publication of the corresponding Boletín de Coyuntura.

 

Anti-plagiarism

All articles received for publication in this journal are subjected to anti-plagiarism review by Turnitin software, where grammatical and orthotypographic coincidences should not exceed 30%, otherwise the article is rejected, ensuring that the works are unpublished and meet the standards of editorial quality that guarantee own scientific production.

 

Statement of responsibility

The content of the articles sent to the Boletín de Coyuntura is the responsibility of the author and attest that the work is original and unpublished, that it does not contain parts of other authors or fragments of previously published works. They also confirm the veracity of the data, that is, that the empirical data have not been altered to verify hypotheses.

 

Conflict of interest and funding

All authors are required to declare any conflict of interest that may have influenced the results obtained or the interpretations proposed. Authors must also indicate any institutional and/or project funding from which the research article arises. This information is provided by the author when completing the statement of commitment of authors.

 

Author's contribution

The journal Boletín de Coyuntura uses CASRAI's CRediT taxonomy (Contributor Roles Taxonomy), available at the link, to identify the responsibilities/roles played by each of the authors of the article. Digital preservation

All the information in the journal Boletín de Coyuntura is deposited on the servers of the Technical University of Ambato, which produces a monthly backup of its database and quarterly of its server.

 

Interoperability and machine-readable data policy

Boletín de Coyuntura allows interoperability under the open data and open source OAI-PMH protocol, allowing its content to be harvested by other distribution systems, such as digital repositories and harvesters. In addition, it allows the full text, metadata and bibliographic references to be tracked and accessed with permission. The journal publishes the full text of its articles in PDF, HTML and EPUB formats to facilitate their reading on any device and computer platform.
