Botanical explorations were done at Moran and Urdaneta municipalities, Lara State, Venezuela, from 2005 to 2015.These localities are characterized by secondary forests, shrubs and thorny vegetation and also riparian forests. Plant material was treated following the usual herborization techniques. The APG III classification system was used. Twenty-one species are reported being 18 Magnoliophyta and three Pteridophyta, 18 which ten constitute new altitudinal reports, with nine species found above the known altitudinal range and one species under the range. The remaining eleven species were found within their intervals previously reported. Relevance of local floristic inventories is discussed in relation to plant species distribution and new taxa are reported for this region
