Abstract

Since the COVID-19 pandemic there were many changes that have been taking place worldwide. One of the most important involved the educational sector, since schools have been physically closed, and classes have been adapted to virtual environments that guarantee the continuity of learning. However, this transition process has had an impact on the mental health of the entire educational community. Teachers have had to face new challenges, not only academic but also emotional, combining their work activities with their personal ones, while they have been immersed in a continuous training process, which demands longer hours of work and therefore a greater workload. The psychological effects generated by the pandemic have been diverse, some are new symptoms, and others can exacerbate previous mental pathologies. Mental health interventions are essential and strategies to reduce and face these effects must be based on local realities, the particularities of the individual, and the recommendations of scientific evidence.
