Atención de enfermería en el adulto mayor

El Proceso de Atención de Enfermería es un método sistemático y organizado para brindar cuidados con eficacia y eficiencia orientados hacia el logro de los objetivos. De allí, la importancia y la responsabilidad del profesional de Enfermería aplicar el proceso del cuidado en función de las necesidades identificadas en el adulto mayor y así determinar un cuidado oportuno, a través de acciones individualizadas enfocadas en el diagnostico prioritario y de esta forma tratar las respuestas humanas que se desarrollan durante el envejecimiento, en ese mismo orden, el envejecimiento se define como: “un proceso complejo y dinámico con componentes fisiológicos, psicológicos y sociológicos inseparables e íntimamente relacionados”, es decir, el envejecimiento es una manifestación que ocurre universalmente correspondiendo a un fenómeno irreversible e inevitable para todos los seres humanos.
