Main Article Content
Abstract
The economic subsistence and need’s satisfaction represent factors that a priori could motivate everyone to start a business. Undertaking seems easy and ingenious if you have an idea for an innovative product that simplifies processes and costs. The dark kitchen has explored this broad and complex business’ arena and this study has identified the factors that motivate the formal entrepreneurship of dark kitchen businesses. The applied methodology is descriptive and cross-sectional. The field research consisted of an exhaustive search for seeking the formal dark kitchen establishments in the northern of Guayaquil. There have been identified 64 legally constituted. The findings show that crises mark the presence of these businesses developed by young adults with university studies, in the fast-food segment. It was determined that knowledge and work experience are the factors that motivate professionals to start a business, and the least motivating factors, but no less important, are related to social and resource aspects such as obtaining high economic income, a better social status, invest their own resources and public policies to stimulate entrepreneurship.
