Abstract

This article contains a brief analysis of the circumstances posed by the sequelae of COVID-19 in the population that has suffered a previous infection, the so-called POST COVID-19 Syndrome, is a current condition that falls on patients of different age groups, from hence the importance of glimpsing a broad panorama of its meaning, complications, clinical indicators, consequences, and other factors by comparing the existing bibliography on this topic. The objective is to analyze the associated conditions and sequelae that covid-19 can produce, in order to approach individualized treatment and modify the treatment in patients with sequelae. Materials and methods: a descriptive, retrospective study was carried out, reviewing scientific articles from the last 5 years. Results: the term Long COVID or prolonged COVID in Spanish, also called persistent COVID, refers to the persistence of symptoms weeks or months after SARS-CoV-2 infection regardless of viral status. Phenomenon that is quite annoying and can even cause sequelae in the respiratory system. Conclusions: subsequent complications are focused within cardiovascular and respiratory conditions, as well as complications in the social, family and current health systems
