Abstract

Background: Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) is a process that integrates the best available scientific evidence with the clinical practice of healthcare professionals. The implementation and application of EBA must establish appropriate guidelines to ensure the optimal functioning.

Objective: To evaluate the existing scientific information regarding the application and impact of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) as a decision-making methodology among medical professionals in undergraduate and postgraduate settings.

Methods: A systematic review was carried out using the PRISMA methodology. A search of articles was conducted using various health-related databases, based on defined inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Results: A total of 120 articles related to EBM were identified, of which 10 were duplicates. Of the remaining articles, 48 explained that decisions were made under pressure from superiors, and 36 met the inclusion criteria.

Conclusion: These findings highlight the importance of applying EBM in clinical practice and its role as a critical factor in undergraduate and postgraduate education
