Abstract

Prequalified beam-column connections play a critical role in the performance of steel structures; The adequate performance of the selected structural system depends on them, since they allow the system to dissipate energy in seismic events through inelastic deformations, which is why this article shows the numerical implementation of a free program for educational use for analysis and design. of three types of connections at a time: Reduced Beam Section (RBS), bolted unstiffened extended end-plate (BUEEP 4E) and bolted flange plate (BFP) according to guidelines established by the AISC 358-16 standard. This program allows the user to obtain results quickly and safely, for which the program verified a comparison of results obtained manually, obtaining a low difference in results, thus verifying that the values ??obtained by free software are reliable and that it can be used. to verify, and / or design prequalified connections.
