Abstract
Worldwide, the new coronavirus has been the cause of severe respiratory syndrome due to Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), this outbreak that has become a global pandemic has caused the collapse of health systems worldwide, and still at present, despite advances in medical studies, there is no prophylactic option that is reliable enough to be applied within the management protocols. Two cases of patients with confirmed diagnoses of COVID-19 infection are presented, who benefited from the administration of passive antibody therapy due to the use of convalescent plasma from patients who overcame the disease. Currently, this therapy constitutes a rapid option in the treatment of patients diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2, but above all it offers the possibility of considering a prophylactic option in the middle of the crisis that health systems are experiencing. It is important to establish the importance of standardizing the entire plasma donation, collection, transport, and transfusion process under strict processes controlled by objective evaluations based on the studies that have been previously carried out on convalescent plasma.
