Analysis and Comparison of Seismic Rehabilitation Methodologies for Metallic Structures
Main Article Content
Abstract
Seismic retrofitting of buildings consists of the evaluation and design of retrofit systems to modify the seismic performance of existing buildings based on meeting a seismic performance target (Guevara et al., 2015). This article analyzes the most relevant seismic retrofit methodologies for an industrial type steel structure. Currently, there is no methodology considered the most efficient for all structures under dynamic stress (Gómez et al., 2008), so this article will allow us to know the influence of different parameters such as cost, time, architectural/operational condition, material/manpower available at the site and mainly its structural behavior for the selection of a seismic rehabilitation methodology, which was performed through the linear and nonlinear analysis of an industrial type steel structure for the selection of the most optimal rehabilitation methodology for this type of systems.
