TERMINATION OF PREGNANCY WAY IN WOMEN WITH PREECLAMPSIA AT HOSPITAL GENERAL LATACUNGA 2007-2016

Resumen

Preeclampsia is a disease during pregnancy. It is characterized by hypertension and proteinuria with an incidence between 2 and 8%. The objective of the present study was to determine the form of termination of pregnancy in mild and severe preeclampsia. A retrospective descriptive study was conducted at the General Hospital of Latacunga from the first six months of 2007 compared to the first six months of 2016 in which all the patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria for mild and severe preeclampsia, were included. The results showed that in 2007 a total of 29 cases of preeclampsia where 16 cases presented severe preeclampsia and 13 of them were mild cases; while in 2016 there were found 43 cases, from which 11 cases presented severe preeclampsia and 32 were mild. The way of pregnancy completion in the 2007 was in its majority by caesarean section, with a total of 62%, compared to the first semester of 2016, in which vaginal delivery prevailed with 58%. The main indicator for the form of pregnancy termination by cesarean section in the first semester of 2007 was cephalo-pelvic disproportion; meanwhile in 2016, previous cesarean associated or not to HELLP syndrome were identified
