Abstract
Introduction: Human beings have the fundamental right to health guaranteed by Ecuadorian State, in which
more than the pathology should consider the patient as an integral subject, since the physical problems of the
social environment and the psych cannot be separated, therefore it is necessary to make known the factors that
influence the onset of metabolic diseases from the point of view of Family and Community Medicine.
Objective: Describe an optimal and comprehensive view of health in the public sphere from the patient's approach
as an integral being and the factors that influence the debut of a metabolic disease from a systematic
review of the scientific literature.
Material and methods: Bibliographic review based on Prisma methodology. The data collection technique was
the search for articles published in the Pubmed, Medline, Elsevier, Scielo and Scopus databases on different
topics related to the objective during the period 1996-2019.
Results: 20 scientific articles published in the journals Elsevier, Scopus, Pubmed, Scielo were revised. From
the review, it was possible to determine what public health was like before and compare it to the present day
to provide critical and strategic opinion based on a specialty approach from primary health care.
Conclusions: Health will always be considered a fundamental right, progress has been made at various points
such as unwanted pregnancies, vaccination, hygiene and family planning awareness, in this way with patients
aware of their body and their pathologies we could achieve a change in lifestyle, prevention of metabolic
diseases and a better future for the health system of our country.
