Unique ventricle

Abstract

Introduction:
The unique ventricle is a cylonotizing congenital heart disease with an estimate of 0.05 to 0.1 cases per
10,000 birth. It has a unique ventricular chamber where atrioventricular valves drain blood from the cave and
pulmonary veins. It is accompanied by other abnormalities, the transposition of large vessels is more
common. Early surgery improves life expectancy.

Objective:
Describe a clinical case of a patient with a single ventricle.

Material and methods: Descriptive, retrospective study, clinical case presentation of single ventricle.

Results: It describes the case of a 9-year-old patient with single ventricle plus large vessel transposition
diagnosed at 2 months of age treated with drugs for refusing to surgical intervention.

Conclusions:
The unique ventricle is a rare congenital heart disease that requires a complete physical examination at birth
accompanied by imaging tests for the purpose of early diagnosis and intervention.
