Chemotherapy and Dermatitis in adults. Reporting a case

Abstract
Introduction: Post-chemotherapy skin conditions are mainly due to the components of cancer treatments, most
of the time these conditions are referred to as a side effect to therapy. Dermatitis, is a skin condition that
occurs by different factors, the treatment used in dermatitis in post-chemotherapy patients, must include
several mechanisms because this is a reactional dermatitis, however, emollients are the first-line treatment.
Objective: Describe a clinical case of a patient Results:suffering from dermatitis as a result of chemotherapy.
Material and methods: A descriptive, retrospective study was conducted, clinical case presentation on postchemotherapy
dermatitis.
Results: It is a female patient, who has a condition on the scalp, arm and elbow, multiple lesions, squamous-looking,
who demands itching and burning, his diagnosis was made by dermatoscopy and dermatological physical
examination, a plan was established Therapeutic 10% cream urea, Momed cream and Ketocon shampoo, is
currently with control and follow-up.
Conclusions: La dermatitis post-quimioterapia, se presenta en el 95% de los pacientes con cáncer sometidos a
quimioterapia, donde las manifestaciones cutáneas más comunes con la xerosis, eritema, prurito, escama,
costra; la alopecia es efecto secundario que también afecta a la gran mayoría de pacientes. el tratamiento de
elección en estos pacientes es urea al 10%, mometasona, y shampoo con ketoconazol.
