Basal cell carcinoma as debut by sun exposure.

Abstract

Introduction: The importance of sunlight for the evolution of life on earth and its role in human development
is recognized. However, all humans, especially people whose skin is not so pigmented or whose occupation or
lifestyle exposes them to excessive amounts of sunlight, are potentially susceptible to their harmful effects.
The link between chronic sun exposure of human skin and harmful clinical consequences such as photoaging
and skin cancers, such as basal cell carcinoma, is indisputable.

Objective: Describe the effect of prolonged sun exposure as a risk factor for developing Basal Cell
Carcinoma.

Material and methods: Retrospective descriptive study, clinical case presentation of Basal cell Carcinoma by
sun exposure.

Results: There is an association between excessive exposure to solar radiation by the patient and the
appearance of basal cell carcinoma in the skin.

Conclusions: Basocellular Carcinoma represents the most common skin neoplasm, so it is essential to achieve
the correct diagnosis and treatment, know its clinical behavior and evolution of the injury. The most important
risk factor to consider is the time of exposure to the sun's rays.
