Abstract
Ecuador is an Amazonian country with a wide herpetofauna among which the genus Bothrops of the Viperidae family stands out, causing the largest number of identified snake bites, whose main characteristic clinical described is hemotoxicity. The objective of this study is to report the present clinical case that documents cardiotoxic effects, uncommon in the bite of a snake of the genus Bothrops. The methodology used in the report and analysis of this case takes an observational, retrospective and qualitative approach, supported by the updated review of high-impact journals. In the results obtained, it was possible to identify that there is no documentation that analyzes and justifies the cardiotoxic effects in this genus of snakes, with few reports worldwide
