Factors favoring Falciparum and Vivax malaria resistance in Ecuador
Main Article Content
Abstract
Introduction: Malaria, also known as malaria, is a parasitic disease transmitted by the Anopheles mosquito, causing symptoms such as vomiting, fever and headache. In Ecuador, geography and climate are conducive to the high prevalence of the mosquito in tropical regions such as the Amazon and the coast. Despite significant reductions, mosquitoes persist in endemic areas, challenging public health organizations, being a major problem in rural areas with limited access to health services.
Objective: To determine which are the factors favoring Falciparum and Vivax malaria resistance in Ecuador.
Material and methods: A bibliographic review was carried out with different scientific articles of interest and related to the topic to be developed, in order to respond to the main objective of this work.
Results: Thanks to the exhaustive review of these articles, the following parameters were clarified: the places where it is easier to replicate and the resistances that may exist.
Conclusions: Malaria is a disease that has a higher incidence in the Amazon region, due to its climatic conditions, thus favoring malaria resistance
