Learning teaching process for maternal-child rotary boarding school nursing students

Abstract

Introduction: This article emphasizes the teaching and learning processes of students who take the period of Rotary Internship of the Nursing Career of the Technical University of Machala, during the ninth semester in the subject of Maternal Child II, allowing to guide the intern in the detection and satisfaction of the needs presented by the mother-child binomial in a timely manner , during pre-professional practices that develop specifically during their professional training at different levels of complexity for the care of the individual, family and community.


Objective: Generate meaningful learning in nursing care, so that the student applies the acquired knowledge, skills and skills in the different real scenarios, as well as the development of the ethical, moral and humanistic values that are required for the performance of the profession.


Material and methods: A descriptive, cross-cutting, analytical study was conducted using an evaluation tool for students from the ninth semester A, B, C, during November 2017 to April 2018.


Result: Of 52 students 57.7% have a high level of knowledge with the subject of the academic process of nursing career, while 42.3% obtained an average of Very Good.


Conclusions: The application of teaching and learning processes in students belonging to rotating boarding school, generates a development of the cognitive, procedural and attinal skills necessary for their vocational training.
