Abstract

Introduction: Demodicosis is a skin condition that has great dermatological importance, due to the prevalence
that exists. The causal agent that is the demodex its pathophysiology is not yet clear, however, it is linked to
diseases such as acne rosacea.


Objective: The objective of this article is to present a clinical case of a patient suffering from facial demodicosis, and in turn to present an updated review on the management and treatments of this


dermatological disease.


Material and methods: An updated review of the topic was included, highlighting the management and
treatment, and its study is descriptive retrospective, presentation of a clinical case.


Results: A clinical case of a male patient is presented. He presented facial erythema, itching and burning
approximately in an 8-day evolution picture. He was diagnosed by dermoscopy, direct examination, and
confirmed by biopsy. A therapeutic plan for Ivermectin, Metronidazole, and Metronidazole was established.
Currently controlled and with dermatological monitoring.


Conclusions: Demodicosis is a common and highly prevalent skin disease, therefore it is important to
recognize and focus on the study of this pathology, its causative agent, its signs and symptoms, the different
means of management and treatment, which will allow us to have A great advantage to be able to make a good
diagnosis and counteract the effects of it.
