Streeter dysplasia (amniotic bridle syndrome) about a case

Abstract

Introduction: Streeter's Dysplasia or Amniotic Band Syndrome (SBA) is a group of birth defects, which
occurs when parts of the developing fetus (usually arms, legs, or fingers) are "entangled" in fibrinous-type
amniotic bands within the uterus. , which restrict blood and lymphatic flow, affecting the development of the
baby.

Objective: Describe a clinical case of amniotic bands as a cause of malformation in the extremities.

Material and methods: Retrospective descriptive study, presentation of a clinical case.

Results: In this work, we present the case of a newborn male who presents with syndactyly in the left hand,
right foot and in the distal third of the leg, a deep constriction band that causes edema and lymphangitis as
well as hypertrophy of the distal third of the leg and foot. left.

Conclusions: The review of this case is important since the intervention must be multidisciplinary (plastic
surgery, vascular surgery, orthopedics and traumatology, pediatrics, psychology) and early in order to avoid
vascular, functional and aesthetic complications.
