QUALITY OF LIFE OF NURSING STUDENTS: RELATIONSHIP WITH ACADEMIC AND FAMILY COMPONENTS

Abstract

Introduction: Quality of life is a multifactorial concept, which is linked to the perception of health, social integration and the achievement of personal objectives, among others. In the case of students, it has been linked to the achievement of academic objectives, the perception of support from family, teachers and classmates, with social variables of educational spaces, which is why it warrants studies to identify the relationship between these variables in nursing students. Objective: Determine the relationship between the perceived quality of life with academic and family variables in nursing students at a university institution in northeastern Argentina.  Methods: Descriptive, cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach. 162 nursing students were surveyed, to whom a questionnaire consisting of validity and reliability with a Cronbach's alpha of 0.75, consisting of 14 questions with closed response options, was administered during the period July to August 2022. Results: The sample was made up mostly of women, in the first year of the curriculum and with studies financed by a scholarship, with an average age of 25.7 years. 60.49% of those surveyed perceive their quality of life as good and relate it mostly to emotional well-being in 43.83%. Conclusions: The perception of integration with the educational community, inclusion in the group of peers, teacher accompaniment and family support were related to satisfaction with life, perception of flexibility in the course and success in the academic year.
