Use of information and communication technologies in new therapies in mental health.

Abstract

In recent years, various situations have led to an increase in mental disorders, so health services have found it necessary to recruit more professionals in this area, where the use of technology has increased. Objective: For this reason, the existing information on psychological therapies was analyzed using information and communication technologies. Materials and methods: This study corresponded to a search in scientific databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, Dialnet, Research Gate, Scielo, and official pages of the World Health Organization, Pan American Health Organization, and American Psychological Association, obtaining a total of 51 papers that were used for the preparation of this document. Results: Therapies and psychological processes have benefited from technological advances, using them in various contexts with favorable results for the user. Conclusions: Currently, the use of technology has innovated new psychotherapy processes that have supported the improvement of mental health.
