Resumen

Introducción: la pandemia del COVID-19 aumentó la complejidad de la vida universitaria; cambiando el proceso enseñanza-aprendizaje, donde los estudiantes se adaptaron a la virtualidad e incrementar sus jornadas de estudio en medio de la incertidumbre. Objetivo: analizar la evidencia científica disponible sobre estrés académico en estudiantes universitarios durante la pandemia del COVID-19. Método: Se realizó una revisión sistemática con la aplicación del método PRISMA, a partir de la búsqueda de artículos, en bases de datos como Science Direct, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Sage Journals, que describieran el estrés académico en estudiantes universitarios en el contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19. Resultados: se incluyeron 22 artículos, los cuales cumplieron con el 100% de los criterios de inclusión y con 70% de rigurosidad metodológica. Se logró evidenciar un incremento acelerado y progresivo del estrés en los estudiantes universitarios durante la pandemia del COVID-19. Respecto a la manifestación del estrés, los estudios señalan que este viene acompañado de sentimientos de soledad y una falta de control percibida, lo que afecta, indiscutiblemente, el rendimiento académico de un estudiante y la salud mental. Conclusión:  durante la pandemia del COVID-19, los estudiantes universitarios presentaron incremento del estrés académico y trastornos mentales, como la depresión y la ansiedad, los cuales estuvieron determinados por diversas fuentes estresoras, como el distanciamiento social, la sobrecarga de actividades académicas, el nivel de exigencia de los docentes y la incertidumbre frente a los apoyos económicos.

Introduction: the COVID-19 pandemic increased the complexity of university life; changing the teaching-learning process, where students adapted to virtuality and increase their study days in the midst of uncertainty.


the COVID-19 pandemic increased the complexity of university life; the student was forced to change his ways of studying, to delve into virtuality and to increase his study days in the midst of uncertainty. Objective: to analyze the available scientific evidence on academic stress in university students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A systematic review was carried out with the application of the PRISMA method, based on the search for articles, in databases such as Science Direct, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Sage Journals, that described academic stress in university students in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Results: 22 articles were included, which met 100% of the inclusion criteria and 70% methodological rigor. It was possible to show an accelerated and progressive increase in stress in university students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Regarding the manifestation of stress, studies indicate that it is accompanied by feelings of loneliness and a perceived lack of control, which indisputably affects a student's academic performance and mental health. Conclusion: During the COVID-19 pandemic, university students presented increased academic stress and mental disorders, such as depression and anxiety, which were determined by various sources of stress, such as social distancing, the overload of academic activities, the level of demand of teachers and uncertainty in the face of economic support.
