Abstract
Introduction:
Retroperitoneal hematoma is a rare condition in obstetrics, in most cases is caused by an iatrogenic injury.
Objective: Describe a clinical case of retroperitoneal hematoma as a cause of hypovolemic shock
Materials and Methods: A retrospective descriptive study, presentation of retroperitoneal hematoma clinical case as a cause of obstetrics emergency.
Results: A postpartum woman with hypovolemic shock after her postoperative, due to laceration of the left uterine artery. Producing a retroperitoneal hematoma, caused by complications of the elective segment cesarean section.
Conclusions: In obstetrics-gynecology is important to consider that the development of a retroperitoneal hematoma as a cause of a cesarean section, represents a high lethal rate if it is not detected and treated on time.
