Abstract:
Introduction: Specifying the evaluation criteria of educational research is crucial to ensure the quality, reliability and validity of the studies carried out, guaranteeing their impact on curricular improvement and the academic, scientific and research development of higher education institutions.
Objective: To conduct a systematic review of the literature on the evaluation criteria of educational research.
Methodology: A systematic review of the scientific literature was carried out according to the PRISMA methodology on articles published in indexed journals, during the period 2014-2024, in databases: Scopus, WOS, PubMed, ProQuest, Embase, Redalyc, Ovid, Medline, DynaMed and ClinicalKey. Two models were used to statistically combine the results: fixed-effect and random-effects
Results: The systematic review provided 25 articles, excluding 8 and choosing 13, which allowed us to evaluate the aspects of this review.
Conclusions: The evaluation criteria of educational research allow an objective and systematic assessment of the methods, results and impact, guaranteeing their rigor and reproducibility, facilitating the comparison between studies, promoting transparency and credibility in the academic and scientific field. All of which has an impact on the continuous improvement of educational practices in the field of Medical and Health Sciences, guiding pedagogical policies and strategies based on robust and well-founded evidence that facilitates curricular improvement.
